Philosophy of Teaching

Janet's teaching method, style, and course of action is designed for the vocal student desiring an understanding of vocal production and singing performance.  Her lessons include proper breath control and posture, vocal warm ups, vocal exercises, practice techniques, diction, song interpretation, and performance techniques.  She teaches from the platform of "the working singer" and so imparts practical every day tips and helpful practices.  Your time with her will be a great source of self discovery on your journey to your own personal expression through singing.

Experience

This is an article written by Karl Paulnack, the Music Department head at Boston Conservatory.   It is an essay based on his speech to incoming freshmen.  Janet includes it here because she feels every human being should do music of some kind for the reasons so eloquently stated HERE.
